CHICAGO: Mountain Railroad at John Hancock Observatory

Hancock Holiday Mountain Railroad at John Hancock Observatory in Downtown Chicago. The 14th Annual Hancock Holiday Mountain Railroad is an elaborate miniature railroad featuring 12 model trains. Holiday Trains run through1,400 square feet of snow covered trees, mountains, and decorated towns. The glen includes miniature attractions including a cable car to Rudolph's Island of Misfit Toys, an animated tree farm, snowman family, Christmas carnival, ski slops, North Pole, skating rink, Cows of Parade, skating rink, reindeer barn, Christmas Village and Christmas Train. The elaborate train display runs from November 14 to January 2. The trains are located in the lower concourse level near the entrance of the Hancock Observatory. The Mountain Railroad Display is free to the public.

While at the John Hancock Center, visitors visit Santa Claus and can enjoy the views from the Observatory with views spanning 80 miles and up to four states. Throughout the holiday season, visitors to the Observatory receive a free digital image with Old St. Nick and Mrs. Claus. Hungary by the future Danube Express Luxury Train

I recently returned from Hungary where I was taking a familiarization trip on the future Danube Express. The Danube Express is a new luxury rail service that will serve central and eastern Europe, beginning in April 2008. The Danube Express invited sellers and promoters of rail travel and rail vacations to experience the service and see their classic rail cars, as well as the progress on their new deluxe sleeping cars.
