No, unfortunately I haven't had a train layout since I was a small boy in England, and that of course, was before today's complex capabilities. I do enjoy going to view displays by the local train club.
I thoroughly enjoyed my trip around the States on Amtrak It really paid to use Amtrak's vacation services for making bookings for hotels and side jaunts. I found the staff very knowledgable. I spent 5 weeks before arriving back in Portland [OR]. My scheme of spending several days on the train sleeping on the coach seating and then getting off for a short stay in a hotel or with relatives worked well. My major expense while treaveling was for food in the restarant car and thast, generally, was excellent
Thank you for being interested.. I may do it all again one of these years.

Hey Richard, Thanks for writting, I used to have small model trains, but sold them. They were my husbands from childhood. We had plans to make a big platform, but when the kids came, the plan died. Hungary by the future Danube Express Luxury Train

I recently returned from Hungary where I was taking a familiarization trip on the future Danube Express. The Danube Express is a new luxury rail service that will serve central and eastern Europe, beginning in April 2008. The Danube Express invited sellers and promoters of rail travel and rail vacations to experience the service and see their classic rail cars, as well as the progress on their new deluxe sleeping cars.
